December 2009 Website Updates

Happy Holidays!

Our website has undergone some changes recently, which include:

  • Subtle refinements to the colors, styles, header and logo to reflect a more polished image for the club. Color changes incorporate more earth tones in line with our conservation motto.
  • A marked performance increase when navigating pages thanks to our move to Site5 web hosting.
  • New sources of news feeds for Illinois Outdoors, Hunting, and a new feed from Wisconsin DNR as an option.  (To see additional news feed options or to select the feeds you wish to view, please log in and navigate to your account settings page to make your selections.)
  • A new source of news feeds on the Fishing page, and the addition of a feed from the Northern Illinois Angler.

IGOLD: MARCH 10, 2010

JUST A REMINDER, I know its a long way away, but now is the time to start planning. If we have at least 50 people to go we could board the bus from the club and leave from the club. Watch the web for more information.

Membership

I have been getting a lot of requests from people for information on how to join our club. We are at our max membership of 300 members. We will not be taking any new members at least until September of this year 2009, at that time our membership has to renew its membership dues for the coming year. We will have information as to how many members chose not to renew. We have a current waiting list of a number of prospective new members and as the openings occur we will fill them from that list after September 2009.

Thank you
Chairman of Advisory Board

Jim Wroble

[Update]

Waiting List: We have 40 people on the list and we are not taking anymore applications until the fall. The club roster is full at 300 members which is our limit. Thanks for all the inquires.

OPSC Website Redesign

Welcome to the newly redesigned OPSC website. It's been almost five years since the original OPSC website went on-line and though it served the club well, it was overdue for a change. The new design is cleaner, brighter and less crowded. We hope you like the new look.

If you haven't noticed already, the URL has changed from www.oakparksportsmensclub.org to our new (shorter) web address at: www.opsc.ws. The old domain will now redirect here, so please adjust your bookmarks accordingly.

The new OPSC.WS domain name can be easier to remember if you think of .WS as an acronym for Web Site, since the more memorable .ORG, .COM, .US, etc. are all taken.

All club members are encouraged to register for a new account. It may take a day or two for us to verify your club membership, after which you will receive your website login credentials via email.
